Terms of Service
Effective: December 18, 2025 | Last updated: March 17, 2026
Welcome to Currot ("we," "our," or "us"), a service owned and operated by Eliary Inc. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our mobile application (the "Service"). Currot is a mobile-only application and is not available as a web service or desktop application. By accessing or using Currot, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
IMPORTANT: These Terms contain a binding arbitration agreement and class action waiver (Section 18), which affect your legal rights. Please read them carefully.
NSFW CONTENT STRICTLY PROHIBITED: Currot has a zero-tolerance policy for NSFW (Not Safe For Work) content including nudity, pornography, and sexually explicit material. Accounts posting such content will be immediately and permanently banned without warning. See Section 4 for details.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, accessing, or using Currot, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.
We may modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
2. Eligibility
2.1 Age Requirements
You must meet the minimum age requirement for your jurisdiction to use Currot:
- Default Minimum Age: 13 years old
- European Economic Area (EEA): 16 years old, or the minimum age specified by your country if lower (varies by member state, minimum 13)
- South Korea: 14 years old
- Other Jurisdictions: The minimum age required by local law, if higher than 13
Important: Age requirements vary by country, state, or territory based on local laws. You are responsible for knowing and complying with the age requirements of your jurisdiction. If your local law requires a higher minimum age, that age applies to you.
2.2 Age Verification and Accuracy
You must provide your accurate date of birth during registration. By providing your birth date, you represent and warrant that it is truthful and correct.
FALSE DATE OF BIRTH: Providing a false date of birth constitutes a material violation of these Terms and may result in immediate account suspension or permanent termination without prior notice. We reserve the right to take enforcement action at any time if we determine, at our sole discretion, that a user has misrepresented their age.
Content-Based Age Review: We may review your account, including pictures, posts, and other content, to assess whether you meet our age requirements. If we have reasonable suspicion that you may be younger than the required age or that you provided a false date of birth, we may:
- Request that you submit proof of age (such as a government-issued ID)
- Temporarily suspend your account pending verification
- Permanently terminate your account if proof is not provided or confirms you do not meet age requirements
- Retain records of the account and associated data for an extended period for safety and legal purposes
We reserve the right to take these actions at any time and at our sole discretion to ensure the safety of our community.
Changes to Age Requirements: Age requirements may vary by jurisdiction and may change based on applicable laws and regulations. You are responsible for complying with the age requirements applicable to your location. We reserve the right to modify age requirements at any time to comply with legal obligations or to enhance community safety.
2.3 Minors (Under 18)
If you are between the minimum age and 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), you represent that:
- Your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agrees to these Terms on your behalf
- Your parent or legal guardian consents to your use of the Service
- Your parent or legal guardian understands and accepts our Privacy Policy
Parents and guardians who permit minors to use Currot assume responsibility for the minor's compliance with these Terms and for monitoring their activity on the Service.
2.4 Enhanced Safety Measures for Users Under 18
To protect younger members of our community, users under 18 years of age may be subject to enhanced safety measures, which may include but are not limited to:
- Enhanced Content Review: Content posted by or directed at users under 18 may be subject to more active moderation and review
- Interaction Monitoring: Interactions involving users under 18 may be subject to enhanced monitoring for potentially harmful patterns
- Communication Safeguards: Additional safeguards may apply to direct messaging and other communication features
These measures may be modified, expanded, or adjusted at our sole discretion based on evolving safety considerations, community feedback, and legal requirements. We do not guarantee that any specific safety measure will be in effect at any given time.
Interaction Monitoring for Minor Protection: To protect users under 18, we may analyze interaction patterns between adult users (18 years or older) and minor users. Adult accounts that exhibit patterns of initiating contact with multiple users under 18 may be subject to enhanced review. Based on such review, we may, at our sole discretion and without prior notice:
- Restrict the adult account's ability to contact users under 18
- Immediately suspend or permanently terminate the adult account
- Retain records of the account and related communications for an extended period to support safety investigations and respond to legal requests
- Report concerning activity to appropriate authorities where permitted or required by law
Users 18 years or older should be aware that their interactions with users under 18 may be subject to enhanced scrutiny. This policy exists to maintain a safe environment for younger users and does not require any specific pattern or threshold to trigger review.
2.5 Account Restrictions
You may not use Currot if:
- You have been previously suspended or removed from our Service
- You are prohibited from receiving our Service under applicable laws
- You are located in a country subject to U.S. government embargo or sanctions
- You are on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties
2.6 Business Use
If you are using Currot on behalf of a business or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms, and "you" refers to both you individually and the entity.
3. Your Account
3.1 Account Creation
To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
- Maintain and promptly update your account information
- Not share your account credentials with others
- Create only one account per person
3.2 Account Security
You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. You must:
- Immediately notify us of any unauthorized access or security breach
- Not use another user's account without permission
- Log out of your account when using shared devices
3.3 Device Identification and Multi-Device Access
To secure your account and provide our Service, we identify and track devices:
- Device ID: We generate and store a unique identifier for each device you use to access Currot
- Multi-Device: You can access your account from multiple devices simultaneously
- Session Tokens: Each device receives secure authentication tokens that are validated with your device ID
- Device Information: We collect device type, operating system, app version, timezone, and language settings
Security Notice: If we detect suspicious activity or a device ID mismatch, we may require re-authentication or temporarily restrict access to protect your account.
3.4 Session Management
Your login sessions are managed as follows:
- Session Duration: Sessions remain active as long as you use the app regularly
- Token Refresh: Your authentication tokens are automatically refreshed to maintain your session
- Logout: You can log out from the current device at any time via app settings
- Remote Logout: We may implement the ability to log out from all devices for security purposes
For security reasons, we may terminate sessions after extended periods of inactivity or if suspicious activity is detected.
3.5 Account Deletion
You may permanently delete your account at any time through the app settings (Settings > Account > Delete Account). This is separate from account deactivation.
Account Deletion (permanent):
- Your profile and all public content will be immediately removed from public view
- You have a 30-day recovery period during which you can cancel deletion by logging back in
- After 30 days, your account is permanently and irreversibly deleted — it cannot be recovered
- Your pictures, posts, and associated data will be permanently deleted or irreversibly anonymized after the retention period (up to 90 days for standard content; extended for reported content, legal matters, or minor protection — see Section 5.6)
- Your Ask responses will be anonymized (your identity removed) upon account deletion (see Section 6.3)
- Content shared with others may remain visible to them until they delete it
Account Deactivation (temporary):
- You may temporarily deactivate your account through the app settings
- Your profile is hidden while deactivated, but your data is preserved
- You can reactivate at any time by logging back in
- Deactivation does not delete your data — it is a temporary pause, not a deletion
Account deactivation is NOT a substitute for account deletion. If you wish to permanently delete your account and data, you must use the Delete Account option.
3.6 Username Policy and Ownership
Usernames are the property of Eliary Inc. By creating an account, you are granted a limited, revocable license to use your chosen username, subject to the following terms:
Platform Ownership:
- All usernames remain the exclusive property of Eliary Inc. (operating as Currot)
- Users do not own, and have no proprietary rights to, any username
- We reserve the right to reclaim, reassign, or modify any username at our sole discretion
Reserved Usernames:
- Certain usernames may be reserved for official Currot accounts, partner accounts, or platform features
- Usernames may be reserved for notable public figures, celebrities, brands, or individuals with established public identity and recognition
- We may proactively reserve usernames to prevent impersonation or confusion
Username Reclamation: We may reclaim usernames in the following circumstances:
- Inactivity: Accounts that remain inactive for extended periods may have their usernames reclaimed for reassignment
- Username Squatting: If we reasonably believe a username was registered with the intent to "hold" or "squat" on a desirable username without genuine use, we may reclaim it without notice
- Notable Person Claims: If a public figure, celebrity, or notable individual can demonstrate legitimate claim to a username held by another user, we may transfer that username to them
- Trademark or Brand Conflicts: Usernames that infringe on trademarks or cause brand confusion may be reclaimed
- Policy Violations: Usernames associated with suspended or banned accounts may be permanently retired or reassigned
3.6.1 Username Modification for Public Interest
To prevent impersonation and public confusion, Eliary Inc. reserves the right to modify usernames that appear to represent:
- Official Entities: Government agencies, public institutions, international organizations, or official bodies
- Government Representatives: Elected officials, government employees acting in official capacity, or diplomatic personnel
- Highly Notable Public Figures: Celebrities, public figures, or individuals with significant public recognition who have not verified their identity
- Registered Organizations: Companies, non-profits, or organizations with established legal identity
If your username is determined to cause potential confusion with any of the above, we may:
- Require you to change your username within a specified timeframe
- Modify your username automatically with or without prior notice
- Add distinguishing elements to your username (e.g., suffixes or prefixes)
- Suspend your account until the username issue is resolved
This policy exists to protect users from misinformation and to maintain trust in our platform.
No Compensation: Users are not entitled to any compensation, refund, or consideration if their username is reclaimed, reassigned, or modified under this policy. By using our Service, you acknowledge and accept this risk.
4. Community Guidelines
Currot is a social platform built on respect, safety, and authenticity. By using our Service, you agree to follow these community guidelines:

4.5 AI Accounts Prohibited
AI PROFILES AND AI-OPERATED ACCOUNTS ARE NOT ALLOWED: Currot is a platform for genuine human connection. AI-generated profiles, AI-operated accounts, and accounts that use AI to automate interactions are strictly prohibited.
This includes but is not limited to:
- AI-Generated Profiles: Accounts with AI-generated profile pictures, bios, or identity elements
- AI-Operated Accounts: Accounts where AI systems post content, respond to messages, or interact with other users
- AI Chatbots: Accounts designed to simulate human conversation using AI or large language models

Consequences for AI Account Violations:
- Immediate account restriction or suspension upon detection
- Permanent ban for confirmed AI-operated accounts
- No appeal rights for accounts clearly operating as AI personas
- Associated accounts may also be subject to enforcement action
Exception: Official Currot system accounts or verified partner integrations approved by Eliary Inc. are exempt from this policy.
4.6 Content That May Be Restricted
Certain types of content in posts, asks, and chats may be restricted even if they do not constitute outright violations. Content that is:
- Assertive or Aggressive: Content that is confrontational, threatening in tone, or creates a hostile environment for other users
- Sexually Sensitive: Content that, while not explicitly NSFW, contains sexually suggestive themes, innuendo, or material that may be inappropriate for general audiences
- Inflammatory: Content designed to provoke strong emotional reactions or escalate conflicts
Consequences:
- Such content may be flagged, hidden, or removed without prior notice
- Users who repeatedly post such content may receive warnings
- Continued violations may result in temporary restrictions or account suspension
- Severe or repeated offenses may lead to permanent account termination
Our moderation team has sole discretion in determining whether content falls into these categories.
4.7 Reporting Violations
If you see content that violates these guidelines:
- Use the in-app reporting feature to flag content or users
- Our moderation team reviews all reports
- We take action based on the severity of the violation
- False reporting may result in action against your account
We aim to review and act on content reports within 24 hours of submission.
5. Your Content
5.1 Ownership
You retain ownership of the content you create and share on Currot ("User Content"), including photos, text, and other materials. However, by posting User Content, you grant us certain rights as described below.
5.2 License Grant to Currot
By posting User Content, you grant Currot a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to:
- Use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, and display your User Content
- Create derivative works from your User Content
- Distribute your User Content in any media formats and channels
- Use your name, username, and likeness in connection with your User Content
This license exists for the purpose of operating, developing, promoting, and improving our Service, including conducting experiments (such as A/B tests) to improve features and user experience, and the use of anonymized and de-identified data for academic and child safety research (see Privacy Policy Section 5.4). Experiments may vary the features, content, or experience available to different users. The license terminates when you delete your User Content or account, except where your content has been shared with others and they have not deleted it, or where data has been irreversibly anonymized for research purposes.
5.3 License Grant to Other Users
When you share content publicly or with other users, you grant those users a non-exclusive license to access and use your User Content as permitted through the normal functionality of the Service.
5.4 Representations and Warranties
You represent and warrant that:
- You own or have the necessary rights to your User Content
- Your User Content does not infringe any third-party rights
- Your User Content complies with these Terms and all applicable laws
- You have obtained all necessary consents from individuals appearing in your content
5.5 Additional Content Types
In addition to posts and pictures, the Service includes the following content types, all subject to these Terms:
- Wiki Pages: Pre-profile pages that other users can contribute questions to. Wiki content is subject to the same community guidelines and moderation as other content types
- Today: Daily status updates visible to your followers. Today content expires and is replaced each day
- Gallery and Collections: Organization features for your pictures. Gallery visibility follows your profile privacy settings
- Contact Discovery: You may choose to share your device contacts to find friends on Currot. Contact phone numbers are hashed on-device before transmission and are not stored on our servers in plaintext
5.6 Content Retention After Deletion
Important: When you delete pictures or posts, the content is removed from public view but processed versions (resized images) may be retained in our database for up to 90 days. This retention period allows us to:
- Investigate potential policy violations
- Respond to legal requests and law enforcement inquiries
- Protect our community from harmful content and abuse
- Resolve disputes between users
Extended Retention (365 days or longer): We may retain content, account data, and related communications for 365 days or longer in the following circumstances:
- The content or account is subject to an ongoing investigation
- The content or account has been reported by users or third parties
- The account has been suspended or terminated for policy violations
- We have received a legal preservation request or are subject to legal obligations
- The data is relevant to the protection of minors or safety investigations
We may retain data beyond these periods where required by law, to protect our legal interests, or to support ongoing safety initiatives.
5.7 Public Content and Admin Review
Once you make pictures or posts public, they become accessible to other users on the platform. All public content is automatically visible to our administrators for moderation and review purposes. By making content public, you acknowledge that:
- Your content may be viewed by any user on the platform
- Our admin team actively monitors public content for policy violations
- Administrators may delete content that violates our guidelines without prior notice
- Administrators may restrict or suspend accounts that repeatedly violate our policies
6. Social Features and Interactions
Currot provides various social features to connect with others. Here's how they work:
6.1 Following and Followers
- You can follow other users to see their public content in your feed
- Other users can follow you
- You can remove followers or block users at any time
- Follower counts are public by default
6.2 Messaging
Mutual-Follow Requirement: Direct messaging on Currot requires mutual following. Both users must follow each other before they can exchange direct messages. This platform-wide policy helps create a safer messaging environment for all users.
- Send direct messages only to users you mutually follow
- Messages can include text and shared public pictures (only public media can be shared in chats)
- You can delete messages you've sent (but recipients may have already seen them)
- You can report inappropriate messages
6.3 Ask Feature - Response Deletion
The Ask feature allows users to send questions to other users. By answering an Ask, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Your response is publicly visible once submitted
- You may request deletion of your Ask responses by contacting support@currot.com
- If your response has already been viewed by others, we will anonymize it (remove your identity from the response) rather than fully delete it, to maintain conversation integrity
- You should carefully consider your response before submitting
6.4 Anonymous Asks
Purpose of Anonymity: The anonymous Ask feature exists to encourage deeper, more honest social connections by allowing users to express themselves freely. Anonymity is designed to foster genuine communication, not to enable harmful behavior or attacks on others.
By using the anonymous Ask feature, you acknowledge:
- Limited Anonymity: While your identity is hidden from the recipient, we retain sender information in our systems for safety and legal compliance
- No Abuse Protection: Anonymity does not protect you from consequences. If your anonymous Ask violates our Community Guidelines, we can identify you and take enforcement action against your account
- Admin Access: Authorized administrators can access anonymous Ask sender data when required by law, in response to reports, or for safety investigations
- Recipient Controls: Users can disable receiving anonymous Asks at any time
ANONYMOUS ASKS ARE NOT LEGALLY PROTECTED: Sending anonymous Asks does not exempt you from legal responsibility. If your anonymous content violates laws or is subject to legal proceedings, your identity and associated data can be disclosed to law enforcement or legal authorities upon valid legal request. You remain fully accountable for any content you send, whether anonymous or not.
6.4.1 Reporting and Restrictions
While anonymous Asks protect sender identity from the recipient, this protection has limits:
- Reportable Content: If an anonymous Ask is inappropriate, harassing, or violates our Community Guidelines, the recipient can report it
- Content Preservation: Reported anonymous Asks are saved and preserved for investigation, including sender identification
- Account Restrictions: Users who send inappropriate anonymous Asks may face account restrictions, including limited ability to send anonymous content, temporary suspension, or permanent termination
- Manual Review: We manually review patterns of abuse through anonymous Asks and may take enforcement action
Misuse Warning: Using anonymous Asks to harass, threaten, or abuse other users will result in account suspension or permanent ban, regardless of anonymity.
6.5 Blocking
- Block: Blocked users cannot see your profile, content, or contact you
- Blocked users are not notified of your action
7. Prohibited Conduct
In addition to the Community Guidelines (Section 4), you agree not to engage in the following:
7.1 Account Misuse
- Creating multiple accounts for deceptive or abusive purposes
- Buying, selling, or transferring accounts
- Using automated systems to create accounts
- Accessing another user's account without authorization
7.2 Technical Violations
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to our systems or networks
- Using bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access the Service
- Reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling our software
- Circumventing any technological measures we use to protect the Service
- Interfering with or disrupting the Service or servers
- Introducing malware, viruses, or other harmful code
7.3 Service Abuse and Security Attacks
WARNING: Abusive activities and security attacks against our Service are taken extremely seriously and may result in legal action.
The following activities are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate enforcement action:
- Denial of Service (DoS) Attacks: Any attempt to make our Service unavailable to users through flooding, resource exhaustion, or other means
- Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) Attacks: Coordinated attacks using multiple systems to overwhelm our infrastructure
- Service Abuse: Any activity designed to degrade, disrupt, or interfere with the normal operation of our Service
- Infrastructure Attacks: Attempts to compromise, exploit, or damage our servers, databases, or network systems
Consequences for Security Attacks:
- Immediate Restriction: All access to the Service will be immediately revoked
- Permanent Ban: The offending account(s) and associated accounts will be permanently banned
- Legal Action: We reserve the right to pursue criminal prosecution and civil litigation against individuals or entities responsible for such attacks
8. Content Moderation and Enforcement
We actively moderate content to keep Currot safe for everyone.
8.1 How We Moderate
- User Reports: Our team reviews reported content and accounts
- Admin Review: All public content is visible to our moderation team
- Rate Limiting: Automated rate limits protect the Service from abuse and may temporarily restrict certain actions
8.2 Enforcement Actions
Depending on the severity of the violation, we may take one or more of the following actions:
- Content Removal: Delete violating content without notice
- Warning: Issue a warning to your account
- Temporary Restriction: Limit features or visibility temporarily
- Suspension: Temporarily suspend your account
- Permanent Ban: Permanently remove your account (especially for NSFW content, bot activity, or security attacks)
- Legal Action: For serious violations including security attacks, we may pursue legal action
8.3 Appeals
If you believe we made a mistake:
- Contact support@currot.com to request a review of the enforcement action
- We will review your appeal and respond within 30 days
- Our decision on appeals is final
9-12. Intellectual Property, Copyright, Third-Party Services
The Service and its contents are owned by Eliary Inc. and protected by intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of content you create but grant us a license to use it for operating the Service.
We respect copyright. To report infringement, contact support@currot.com. We will respond to valid DMCA notices and may terminate accounts of repeat infringers.
Third-party links and integrations are subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party content.
13-16. Termination, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification
You may permanently delete your account at any time through the app settings (see Section 3.5). Account deletion is permanent and irreversible after the 30-day recovery period. We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations, inactivity, or legal requirements.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES. WE DISCLAIM ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF: (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) $100 USD.
You agree to indemnify and hold Currot harmless from claims arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
17-18. Governing Law, Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by California law. Subject to arbitration provisions, disputes will be resolved in San Francisco County courts.
ARBITRATION AGREEMENT: You agree to resolve disputes through binding individual arbitration, not court. You waive the right to participate in class actions. You may opt out within 30 days by emailing support@currot.com.
Exceptions: Small claims court, intellectual property disputes, and claims for injunctive relief are not subject to arbitration.
19-22. General Provisions, App Store Terms, Changes, Contact
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
These Terms are between you and Eliary Inc., not any app distribution platform. If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms.
We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified through the app. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
